From idea to cap: how P•ink custom caps are born

In the world of craft drinks, every detail counts. From the aroma to the bottle, from the naming to the packaging-everything contributes to telling the story of a product's identity. If you're crafting an original drink, it deserves an outfit to match. And that dress starts with the smallest details -- like the cap.

That is why there is P•ink, the Pelliconi Group brand dedicated to producers of beer, wine and other craft beverages who want to stand out with out-of-the-ordinary packaging. Thanks to state-of-the-art digital printing, we offer custom crown caps and labels in small batches, with delivery in no more than three weeks and no minimum order. A fast, flexible service designed for creative, experimentalists and those who want to give their bottle a unique character.

In this article, we take you behind the scenes to show you step by step how a P•ink custom cap is created-from your idea to the ready-to-use product.

Where it all begins: online ordering

Every P•ink cap's journey begins on our e-commerce site.
Here you can choose your cap type, upload your graphic, and submit your order in a few simple steps. We want customization to be accessible to everyone: not just big producers, but also small breweries, emerging wineries, and makers working on micro-batch or limited editions.

Once the upload of your design is complete, our graphics team goes into action to make sure every detail of your image is perfectly optimized for print. We refine the files, correct any imperfections, and make sure colors and definition provide the best possible rendition.

From hopper to ribbon: the dance of the caps

The heart of the production process begins with the handling of neutral caps.
After being loaded, they end up in a hopper, from which they are transferred by a magnetic roller that lifts and aligns them. Each cap is then laid neatly on a conveyor belt, ready to get into the thick of the processing.

Before printing, the caps go through a surface treatment designed to optimize ink adhesion-an essential step to ensure quality, sharpness and durability.

Digital printing: where caps come to life

This is where the magic happens.
Our four-color digital printing technology works at an impressive rate: about 2.5 caps per second. First a layer of white is applied, necessary to ensure brilliance and color fidelity. Next come the actual colors, which make up your logo, illustrations or design.

The cycle ends with a protective varnish, which ensures a surface resistant to wear, moisture and contact during transport or storage. In a few moments, from simple neutral caps, your caps are born: unique, recognizable, an expression of your identity.

Drying and quality control: the human eye makes a difference

A dedicated lamp "dries" the ink instantly, fixing it to perfection on the surface of the cap.
At this point, each piece goes through a thorough quality control system, supported by both inspection technologies and the attention of our team, which is accustomed to recognizing the details that make the difference.

Only those caps that pass these checks proceed on the path.

Ready to go

Cooled, wrapped and packaged, the caps are ready to be shipped directly to you.
Within two weeks they arrive at your door, ready to close your next craft creation.

The big advantage?
There are no order minimums or limits on creativity. You can order a few pieces per test, for a special collab or for a limited seasonal run. Or launch into a larger production run. Either way, the limit is only your imagination.
